(16,926 posts)There's a book out by him called "YUGE!" that is made up of cartoons of his covering 30 years of BunkerBoy.
It is very discomforting to see what Trudeau was making fun of even back then that is now directing foreign and domestic policy!

(219 posts)Trudeau has always found a way to skewer whoever holds the office. But Trump is the first President he has drawn. The Nixon & Carter strips always showed the outside of the White House (with Nixon's represented by various fences and bunker-like fortifications culminating into a huge panel-filling wall during Watergate. & Carter's White House was just the building after the wall came down). Reagan had a homey mailbox outside the White House, and later into his presidency, he morphed in to Max Headroom. Bush I was invisible, Clinton was a waffle, Bush II was an asterisk (elected by the Supreme Court, there would always ben an asterisk next to the election), and later an asterisk with a cowboy hat, and then a Roman helmet that grew more and more beat up as the wars in the Middle East went on. Obama never got an icon, when he did appear, it was the outside of the White House from various angles. He'd always show the press during press conferences, rather than the President, or show the icon at the podium.
But Trump? He's been skewering him for 30 years. He's been appearing since the 90's, so why not show him? Why not use a grotesque characture of a grotesque character?

(22,252 posts)function. It came with some goodies. I thorougly enjoyed it...until the election.
The whole book seemed like it was drawn out of current news. Trudeau pegged him from the start, didn't he?
It was so appropriate for DJT to somehow end up working with Uncle Duke

(16,926 posts)it's almost like we have Uncle Duke in the White House now - and I don't know whether to laugh or scream! Amazing how Trudeau really did nail him...............
