Living in the northeast weather can be unpredictable in November.
I have two elderly neighbors that won't drive in bad weather.
Last election I offered them a ride but they said their kids were stopping by to drive them.
If you have an elderly neighbor it won't hurt to ask if they need a ride.

(49,212 posts)Presumably it'll be at the church around the corner or the school up the street. In either case even my most infirm neighbor is capable of waking over.
In my state we have permanent absentee ballot options- while polling places in this county are accessible and outfitted with all sorts of special equipment for people with disabilities, in my experience as a poll worker few people who require assistance vote at the polling place. Why on earth would they if they can vote from home and take as long as they need?
If your area has a similar option maybe you should offer to help your neighbor register absentee.

(53,339 posts)...for a few years I volunteered my home as our community's polling place.
I liked the idea of the polling place being in a home in the community. And being there, watching the voters come in to cast their ballots, I felt privileged to have that perspective on democracy in action. It was a long time ago, but I'll never forget it...
