Alexander, CEO of the La Face skin care line, reportedly is already suffering professional consequences since video showing her and her partner confronting James Juanillo in the posh Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco went viral. Her partner was fired from his job at financial services firm Raymond James, the company said Monday.
Juanillo, who identifies as Filipino, took the video of his neighbors confronting him as he stenciled Black Lives Matter on his retaining wall. They later called the cops, who recognized Juanillo and didnt get out of their squad car, he said.
Birchbox announced it had severed ties with Alexanders brand, SFGate reported, and the La Face website appeared to be inaccessible as of Monday morning.

(58,785 posts)Yes, the guaranteed blowback against racists who were wrongly lead to believe they have society's permission again.
But also against attempts to use the police to hurt some unfortunate target of petty malice.
That happens far too often for the authorities to even thing of prosecuting it, they just warn the person and drive off. But the consequences of being outed these days can be devastating financially and socially -- and also very ugly. I'd bet good money this one's website/social media accounts were flooded with vicious hate messages and even death threats from the kind of scum who flock to whatever target is offered them. Her kind turned on her.

There's a most excellent twelve minute interview with him at this link that totally merits a view:

(5,969 posts)After seeing the video, I thought that she at least remained relatively civil (besides the racism, of course). I didn't think she'd actually be so evil and stupid to all the police given the current climate. Who'd escalate that knowing what could happen? Trumpers, that's what they do.
