Some thoughts on the proposed cop lesislation.

The banning of choke holds is good. If you are putting a choke hold on somebody, it means that you already have him under control. The best idea is the national data base. I'm not sure about doing away with the immunity. What troubles me, is the Democrats seem to be leaving it up the states and localities to decide when a cop has been abusive. I don't have much confidence in states like Mississippi or Alabama to regulate abusive cops. They need a federal hotline to the justice department or a commission like the SEC , where people can call in abuses, and they can be monitored.
