There was always questions during the primary about whether Biden could be a fundraising juggernaut. I even had some serious doubts because, on the whole, it felt like he was always one or two steps behind candidates well below him in the polls.
But since wrapping up the nomination, Biden has been on fire.
In May, he raised a whopping $81 million.
To put that into perspective:
In May, 2016, Hillary netted $27 million (though, she was still technically in a primary fight).
In May, 2012, Romney out-raised Obama $77 million to $60 million.
In 2004, Kerry raised $19 million in the month of May.
Biden is building a war chest.
Of course, so is Trump. In April, he raised $62 million. They've yet to release their May figures.
But I think this is a good sign. More importantly, I think it shows Democrats are united and ready to win at all costs.
