In a trainwreck of an interview, one of President Trumps economic advisors was asked to clear up past remarks hed made about the non-existence of systemic racism in America and only made matters worse for himself.
CNBCs Closing Bell anchor, Sara Eisen, confronted Trumps director of the National Economic Council, Larry Kudlow, on Monday about his previous denials of systemic racism.
You said, I dont believe theres systemic racism in the U.S., which I found surprising given the moment that were in, Larry, and given the economic data, which has only exacerbated the inequality weve seen, post-COVID-19. Can you just clarify what you meant? Eisen asked.
But Kudlow did not backtrack and instead boasted that the American system is about equality.

(20,605 posts)simple minded mouth piece for the administration. Even trump's lies require a certain amount of creativity. I do believe Kudlow is infantile in his thinking.

(66,527 posts)He thinks that because America is about equality, that since we are America, equality is a given.
Winston Churchill was guilty of the same kind of bone-headed pedantry He confused Equal Opportunity with Equal Outcome. He thought that Equal Opportunity meant that we want everyone to be given university degrees and high-paying jobs, when that is clearly Equal Outcome.
What we want is everyone to have equal opportunities to strive for those things, and to succeed or fail on their own merits.
