I received a notice today about returning to the office

Beginning in July, 30% of staff will return, with an additional 30% each following month (so July-October).

Staff will be assigned to one of two groups; each will be in the office 2-3 days per week (alternating day to day with the other group).

Arrivals and departures will be staggered over two hours to allow for temperature testing and to avoid elevator crowding.

Some staff will work from home permanently.

I do think it will be permanent for some, but not all folks. Some jobs require folks to be in the office/place of work. Others won't.

I would think there is going to be a ton of retail and commercial real estate for sale or lease that will be available at reduced pricing.

Be safe.

Not everyone wants to stay at home and not everyone can stay at home. Right now the virus is in charge and it sucks more than anything anyone could have imagined.

But you can't keep us locked in our homes forever and living life on fucking Zoom. Eventually we'll find cures, treatments and vaccines that will get us back to work and back to socializing. No one wants this to last forever.

by having some folks work from home. That part is not going to go away.

But I am confident that we will be able to build a better future, especially with the current political climate shifting the way it has.

We aren't required to come in yet, though.

Unfortunately, our department head decided to give each team Star Trek names (I can't even remember what they are) and as someone who doesn't like science fiction or care about Star Trek, I cannot tell you how tiresome this is.

I assume plans will adjust depending on the indicators.

We used to name all the conference rooms and projects after Star Trek. I like Star Trek but it was annoyingly hard to remember which starship was which product feature.

Don't think I'll switch unless there's a good reason.

they bumped my pay for the potential hazard. Managers and above are working form home but I'm in IT for a large healthcare-related org and this is where the computers are. I support the folks who are on the front-line and do it gladly and would have done so without the extra pay but the extra is nice.
