Trump Is Recruiting People From High Covid States To Infect His Rally

From the article:

Tulsa public health officials are worried about the exact scenario that Trump and his campaign are creating. Trump isn’t requiring masks for attendees, or social distancing. The Trump campaign wants to cram tens of thousands of people into an arena close together during a pandemic, and they are advertising for their supporters in places where cases are spiking to come to the rally.

If I were possessed of a very dark sense of humor, I might welcome this because Darwinian selection would help the Democrats, but I would not wish this on anyone, even members of the Trump crime family.

He can't win the election that way. But of course very little that he does ever makes sense.

Demented Don’s brain only focuses on what he wants. He wants his rally, his ego-boo, and his air-time. He’s like my mother about 3 years before her Alzheimer’s finally killed her - able to keep up a mostly intelligent conversation for a while, capable of charm for limited periods, and running around with a brain full of snakes - paranoia, delusion, flashbacks, grudges, impulses, and anxiety - that ruled her when she wasn’t “on stage.”

Consequences don’t even impact his mind. That’s for others to worry about. It’s their job to make him look good.

It won't bother him any if it does happen, since he has no conscience. And he feels nothing but contempt for his supporters, that's been clear for a long time. I don't think he cares enough about them to actively want them to die, if that makes sense.

I don't believe he has the intellectual wherewithal to consider the possibility that this rally may negatively affect his chances in November. It's just too many steps of cause and effect, cause and effect, and he's not capable of such complex thinking.

Own the libs, gather a bunch of people and roll the dice. If he wins, he gets to say how God protected the true Murican patriots blah, blah. It was all overblown blah, blah,

If he loses, he will lie and blame it on something else. There is always a christofascist conspiracy to explain away reality.

start thinking about what his minions might be up to.

As someone said above, the guy is impulsive. He would probably be a crappy chess player. But some of his ass-kissers do have some smarts and are probably capable of planning a few moves ahead.

which is what leaves me puzzled. what's the play here? how does spreading the virus serve their goals, unless it's a revised "smallpox blanket" maneuver? send all the rally-infected MAGAts canvassing door-to-door in minority neighborhoods maybe? are they trying for an army of fanatical plague bearers wandering the inner cities?

But with covid-19, most people do recover. My sister-in-law had it and she completely recovered. But it is very serious and I am afraid that a lot more will die, but just not everybody. And the world that this leaves behind may not be very good for the survivors either. A lot of people might be unemployed for a long time and the extended benefits expire next month.
