EXCLUSIVE: A Republican group that opposes President Trumps reelection is going up with a new ad that spotlights the president slowly walking down a ramp Saturday during his appearance at the U.S. Military Academys commencement ceremony at West Point.
Something's wrong with Donald Trump. Hes shaky. Weak. Trouble speaking. Trouble walking, the narrator says in the spot by The Lincoln Project while video of the president from Saturday plays.
The clip of Trump carefully descending the ramp -- as West Point superintendent Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams walked alongside him -- went viral and spurred tons of media coverage questioning the health of the president, who turned 74 on Sunday.

Trump's health is out in the open and will be a topic of discussion - as it should have been months ago.
Thank you, New Lincoln Project

(23,364 posts)Thinking that DUH, who of us doesnt know the MF is unwell? That said...clearly the ad appears to be effective. I am hopeful that theres a leak forthcoming about his ill health that we can take to the bank. Until then...if we can force the MSM to start asking questions, thats good.

(18,486 posts)It's not framed as trying to call attention to the fact that Trump is a physical and mental wreck (although it actually does just that), but it primarily calls out the press for ignoring it. it's clearly intended to goad the press into starting to cover this. And it's working.

(19,240 posts)They ant Trump to see this, it wouldn't surprise me if Trump's handlers pipe in FOX from a different location to avoid him seeing this ad.
I believe this ad is designed to get a reaction from Trump, to make him overreact and make a mistake.

We need our own Wilson and Weaver out there doing this for our side in these modern times.

But, we need people like them in the future. To oppose them down the road. Live and learn.

(19,569 posts)They're who is being called out and the ad is designed to goad them and Trump.
It's not an ad designed to change minds but rather to cause an explosive reaction. Which I suspect it will.
Looking at this I'd venture a guess it's working as planned so far.

(19,240 posts)She coughed and it was front page news. She almost fainted and it was a headline for weeks. Meanwhile Trump was barely able to walk and it got no coverage. He's a fat out of shape slob with serious health issues.
