Senate police bill is theater

This Republican-controlled Senate failed to allow any vote for police reform.

Trump unraveled and defunded every measure put into place by Obama to address systematic racism in policing.

Today, Tim Scott, the only Republican member of the Senate who is a person of color, put forth a Senate bill to address police reform.

Not a single member of the black community was on that stage this morning.

The view and perspective of police was well represented on the stage though.

A purposeful effort was made to exclude the perspective of black Americans from their bill.

Senator Scott says he does not see it a racism issue in this country, much less a racist policing issue.

He talked about "studying the issue". This is a tried and true response to issues like this: study and delay until people get distracted or give up due to intractable effort from government.
