(63,221 posts)Thank you for posting. All the red states were bragging about how they had such low rates of infection and how it was the blue states where the virus was out of control, but we all know the reason for that.
However we were all very good about social distancing, shutting down, wearing masks and generally caring about one another and now our rates are going much lower (look at the graphs of NY, MA, MI, IL) and the red states are now taking off because they either never really shut down or they did a half-assed job of it and even then, nobody really took it seriously.
And I don't think they are going to take it seriously until people start dropping like flies. These also happen to be the unhealthiest states in the country, so the virus is going to take its toll there, even on people who aren't elderly.
