Everything they say in public is just bullshit, fear-mongering and fluff to get votes and hence gain (or retain) power. You're right - they are all self-centered, selfish, greedy and evil.

Anytime I want to understand why they do as the do, I back away and look at it from the standpoint of those limited interests and it almost never fails to prove out to be true.

Because they have access to almost unlimited funding and control of so much of our media (both public and social), what I can't see is a way out of this dilemma. Periodic alternating control of power between us and them simply will not work because every time they're in power, they do more destruction than we can repair.

That is the power of big money and it's money they ultimately got from us through our everyday purchases of goods and services.

The story is now vague but I seem to recall they were sent into a death trap and without proper preparation or backup.
