might hurt Trump's chances of reelection. If we take it for granted that those one in fifty would be Trump voters, and just one in fifty votes for Biden or doesn't vote at all, it could be important in the final numbers. No one knows what true religious people feel
about a bible hater, Donald Trump, holding up a bible in front of a church, but my guess is some are deeply offended. No one knows what this will do in November, but it is a classic picture that remains deeply in the mind.
...Everything that the bible stands for, Donald Trump stands against. And it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Trump is so arrogant that he thinks he can get away with any stunt. . The devil holding a bible does not hold well with devout believers. Come November, we will see the results. And I hope that it is indeed more than one in fifty republicans who are deeply offended by the bible holding stunt. It could be more.

(15,078 posts)If someone had selected a passage out of the bible for him to read, then PERHAPS he might have gotten away with it. Ivanka crammed a Bible in her purse and off they went.
I think a lot more than 1 in 50 religious people were deeply offended by that stupid photo op and, along with all of his other failings, it could have a serious impact in November. Hoping so, anyway.
Good post.

(11,292 posts)say there was a significant (and very measurable) drop in Trump numbers after that specific incident. Might not have all been due to disgust over pandering on religion .. but the timing was fairly precise.
