Does Trump Want to Fight for a Second Term? His Self-Sabotage Worries Aides

Advisers and allies say the president’s repeated acts of self-destruction have significantly damaged his re-election prospects, and yet he appears mostly unable, or unwilling, to curtail them.

..........................................................

Many feel he is deliberately trying to lose the election, that he is incapable of keeping control.........

I do get a feeling we are heading for the final reckoning......

The attorney general’s account stood in direct contrast to the version that the president offered last week when he suggested he had merely been looking the place over.'

Let him sow the seeds of his own destruction. It would be a travesty to interfere with that because it is deserved. Let's see how pride does go before a fall, big time.

Not even his exaggerated braggadocio can save him in that case since it becomes a noose that will gradually restrict itself unto the end.

No better downfall would there be than Trump doing it bigly, like nobody else in history. Yuge!

There's nothing he can do to sabotage his re-election chances with the people who voted for him last time. They'll go down with the ship...

I'm sure that Chump has money stashed in offshore accounts. He'll be on a plane flying out of the country before the FBI can cuff him. I have no idea where he'd go because not many places would take him. Some place with no extradition, that has excellent golf - that eliminates China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and maybe Russia.

If Australia would take him, I bet that's where he'll go. He'll die in the Outback in one day.

Mr. Trump pushed back against his aides. “I have to be myself,” he replied, according to three people familiar with the meeting. A few hours later, he posted on Twitter a letter from his former personal lawyer describing some of the protesters as “terrorists.”

Go for it, big guy!

Him to be himself. Trump always was the quintessential New York City asshole. Most people in New York City are nice people just like anywhere else in our country. Unfortunately there’s always a few bad apples in the bunch like Trump that spoil it for everybody else.

But now he doesn't want to be seen as a loser so he'll cry fraud and cheating democrats for his loss. He thinks he will go about his life at Mara loser and golf ⛳ all day. I pray he spends his post white house days ratting out his family and every other scumbag republican who helped him commit treason. Then rot in jail the rest of his days.

This isn't anything new or different. Trump has not changed one bit since he came down the "golden escalator" to his bought crowd and called Mexicans "rapists", hell, he hasn't changed since before then. The only thing that has changed is that the stakes are higher and the spotlight is much brighter.

Many presidents and other politicians have a learning curve. They make some "rookie" mistakes. Then they learn, at least to keep their mouth shut so as to not exacerbate the situation. This guy has shown, from day ONE, that he is self destructive, that he doesn't learn, that he doesn't care to learn, and the only reason that he is still in office and not in a jail cell is that the ENTIRE GOP has aided and abetted him in order to retain power. There has been NO change since he was a candidate nor since he has been in office. As I said, the only thing that has changed is that his incompetent, malicious, and criminal handling of the country, has increased the danger to everybody in the United States AND the world. Would 120,000 people have died from COVID-19 if President Obama was in office? I would bet my house NO. We would have been on the ground in China, directing resources to keep it there and contain it. Anything that came over to the US would have been quarantined and traced and our numbers would have been like South Korea or Taiwan's. The economy wouldn't have crashed, and we would be functioning in a more normal manner than we are now.

Back to the topic, Trump is not JUST becoming self destructive. He has ALWAYS been that way. He is not trying to lose the election. He is just incapable of regulating his emotions and he lacks the ability to behave in a pro-social manner. There is no planning, there is only reaction. He is only dangerous because he has been given real power and not just his impotent bluster when he grifted his way into the White House.

with early signs of dementia, and that's not good. He is trying to control "everything" around him, and he knows he could go to jail if he loses. The dementia and trumps ego are not working well together.

I wonder what it will be like at his rally in Oklahoma when he goes into his ranting and raving about everything. Will he make a complete fool of himself, or an even bigger fool of himself than he normally does?
