Bolton sucks without a doubt. But would the senate have convicted even with his testimony?

I really doubt it, there was plenty of evidence as it was. It might have swayed public opinion a little but the Trumpers were firmly aligned. Perhaps his info coming out now will have a greater impact. There seems to be a lot more resentment of trump these days with the pandemic and failed economy. Let’s face it most Trumpers don’t care about BLM. But the tell all coming out now might have a greater impact with that segment of society. Not that I’ll buy his book.

Let’s not pretend otherwise.

He’s a dirtbag — also true.

But I like that it pushes this info back out in the ether before his rally and closer to November.

They were so entrenched that almost no evidence of any kind would have persuaded enough of Moscow Mitch's GOPers to vote to convict. That doesn't excuse Bolton, but I hope that some of the specific incidents he describes might open the eyes of undecided and independent voters.

to take him down.

They're way to afraid to lose their own power and if you have even two brain cells to run together you know Trump is a vindictive mean POS who will gladly try to take out anyone who crosses him whether what he says is true or not.

Once that camel's nose was under the tent, who knows what might have followed.

I hope this is the last we ever hear of this jackhole. On to the dustbin of History.

if they did not impeach over Ukraine they would have whitewashed all of this as well.

The Senate GOP is beyond a cesspool of corruption. I wish they were ONLY a cesspool but they passed that status long ago.

...defect and vote for removal, but the bar is set at 2/3 majority to convict him. Bolton’s testimony alone wouldn’t crack that bar.
Even today with leaks about the contents of his book, he doesn’t make the leading story even on MSNBC.

and he pointed out that the Republicans probably wouldn't have convicted him anyway but it's not too late for this to make a difference in the Election.

It was not a matter of guilt or innocence. It was a matter of Republican Vs Democrat. If the trial happened today, it would have ended in a failure to impeach.
