Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) endorsed Kentucky state Rep. Charles Booker (D) on Wednesday in his primary race to win the party nomination and face Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in November.
Pressley said Booker has spent the past decade fighting for the people of Kentucky at all levels of government.
Charles can defeat Mitch McConnell who has caused so much pain for so many families and he will be a powerful advocate for the people of KY in the U.S. Senate, she tweeted.
Booker is one of five candidates Pressley endorsed Wednesday, including Jamaal Bowman, a progressive challenging Rep. Eliot Engel (D) in New Yorks 16th District.
Pressley also endorsed Democrats Jaime Harrison, a Senate candidate in South Carolina, Rev. Raphael Warnock, a Senate candidate in Georgias special election, and Dr. Cameron Webb, a candidate running in Virginias 5th Congressional district.

Amy is just a weak candidate. We need a fighter against Mitch, and we saw Amy go against Barr. She wasnt impressive.

(1,184 posts)Kentucky native here, and I think there's a misunderstanding from people outside Kentucky about how enthusiastic we actually are about McGrath. I respect her and her service, but she has developed a reputation for equivocating and being over-advised. Regardless of what the polls show against McConnell, McGrath lost her House race in a district that included Lexington, and in a Democratic wave election year, no less. If all you've seen are her (admittedly excellent) fighter pilot ads, it's easy to think she's more of a force in Kentucky politics she really is.
I hope the polls that show her essentially tied with McConnell are accurate and that she's more popular than I perceive her to be. I'm happy to be wrong
