Fifth Anniversary of Charleston, SC AME Church murders

(I didn't see anything in DU and we're caught in the anguish of now - heard earlier)

Mother Emmanuel AME Church Charleston, SC

9 dead, others injured, a community shattered, others feel the echoes of other extreme white supremacist actions closer and further in time all over the country -while living in the every day strictures of institutional racism, plus individual interactions of white racists.

Five years? Wow.

...it on Public Radio.

Not that I'd forgotten it as a terrible event, I'd just forgot the date.

Actually I could tie it to Juneteenth as a mental guidepost to help remember. (know about Juneteenth for a few decades).

Thanks.

Five years ago, nine good souls were ripped from this world — killed by hate and white supremacy. Today, we honor the memory of the Emanuel Nine and the unspeakable grace of those they left behind.
