FLIPPABLE: Clint Barras for FL-HD120

Since moving to Key West in 1998, Clint Barras maintains steadfast in his service to the Florida Keys community. Highlights of Clint’s involvement in non-profit board service include the Florida Keys Easter Seals, Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), the Montessori Children’s School, the Key West Rotary Foundation, and the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA). Clint’s longstanding membership in the Key West Rotary Club aligns with his moral code of truth, fairness, and service above self. Clint has served as a member of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council since 2008, and his current position as Chair demonstrates the depth of his commitment to the environment.

Clint studied Political Science at Boston College and earned his Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Georgetown University. For more than twenty years, Clint has successfully lead a digital marketing agency based in the Florida Keys, and is the senior manager of the organization’s largest client, the Monroe County Tourist Development Council. Through his agency, Clint maintains membership in every Chamber of Commerce throughout the Keys, the Florida Keys Lodging Association, the Attractions Association, and the Key West Business Guild. Over the past two decades, Clint has witnessed the degradation of our most precious resource, the coral barrier reef; which protects our shores and provides over $2.4 billion to our district’s tourism and fishing industries. Clint recognizes the value of a healthy environment for Florida’s economy and advocates for environmental standards that include sustainable tourism and fishing practices.

A devoted family man, Clint is the father of two adolescent girls and has been happily married to his wife, Lynn, for over 21 years. He realizes the lack of affordable housing threatens the stability of families as well as businesses. Clint believes in a better future for Florida, for us.
