(58,785 posts)We need to honor and by that strengthen the goodhearted people who have always been the movement, long before it was called that by any group. America's official battle for equality of all began with establishment of our liberal democracy of, by and for the people and has always been continued by good people against great opposition, and great foolishness.
Sure, there was always more that should have been done and there will always be more to do.
BUT BY EVERYONE. White people, as the largest group, may always have been in the forefront of both the problem and the movement to overcome it, but we can't do it alone.
The battle must be by all good people for all who suffer from the selfishness and discrimination of those who reject "others." The problem is among us all.
Also remembering that women are half of all races, ethnic groups and religions and that no group can achieve equality if the privilege embedded deep into the bone among every group is denied to its women.
"Raise hell - big time. I want y'all to get out there and raise hell about damned near everything. My word, there's a world out there that needs fixing. Get out there and get after it." We are!
