(16,917 posts)he refused to testify unless subpoenaed, which would have led to court proceedings blocking his testimony until resolved in court. I believe the committees decided against the subpoenas knowing that they'd never see him there anyhow while awaiting any court rulings.

(32,779 posts)compel his testimony to play out. We abandoned the cause. I have to say, we'd still be waiting. I have zero faith the court would have made him appear.

(2,580 posts)for the court to rule on Bolton testimony, I fail to see how we'd be worse off heading into an election.Pres. candidates don't enjoy campaigning with an impeachment cloud overhanging.
I say re-impeach.
