Georgia police are circling the wagons: Training Director says shooting "justified"

These guys are going to do everything they can to get these officers acquitted. Things are going to get BAD in Atlanta.

We cannot let these killers get off.

https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/georgia-police-training-director-believes-brooks-shooting-was-tragic-yet-justified

FORSYTH, Ga. - The man who runs the training academy for nearly all Georgia law enforcement officers says the shooting of Rayshard Brooks was tragic, yet justified.

...

DECISION 3: Officer Rolfe shoots Brooks even though he knew the weapon fired back was a non-deadly taser.

Wigginton points to case law and statutes in Georgia that allows an officer to use deadly force “to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.”

He said the taser is an “incapacitating weapon” that could have left Rolfe vulnerable to “great bodily injury” if he fell and hit his head on the ground or the curb.

But couldn’t the same thing happen if someone threw a baseball, a water balloon or any object at an officer who was giving chase?

“It does give the police some leeway in the decision-making,” he replied.

Still, Wigginton believed Rolfe followed proper training when he fired his weapon.

“It was a justified shooting,” he said.

Wigginton said if you don’t like the training, the first step is to change the law.

3. The cops lawyer says he thought it was a gun shooting at him so he returned fire

Maybe they’ll go with that defense, or maybe they’ll say he didn’t know it had been fired twice, or maybe they’ll say there wasn’t enough time between the taser being fired and the shots being fired for him to process that information.

In any case the cops are going to fight tooth and nail to get this guy off. They’re going to parade hundreds of “expert witnesses” in front of the jury explaining why it was justified. Just watch.

We cannot allow them get away with this.

It is unclear if the cop 'knew' it had been fired during the initial tussle or, more importantly, if they can prove he knew.

I think the biggest difference this time is that corporate America responded to them with disgust. Once the corporations take a stand, we can start to see progress.

And be aware of any officers he has trained, as they may be in dire need of rehabilitation.

7. Cops look for any excuse to kill black men who resist during every encounter.

Go just below their thin veneer of "professional training copspeak," and most police officers seem to believe the legal system unfairly prevents them from executing resisting black men at will. Apparently, circumventing these pesky legal obstacles by fabricating the flimsiest justifications to excuse the killing of blacks is their God-given right as LEOs.

Expect to see it used in the trial, and don't be shocked when it works. It takes 1 juror to nullify.

Brooks fired a weapon in the direction of the Police. Doesn't matter to them if they knew it was a twice-fired taser. They're going to panic and shoot back; they always have.

They shoot you if you wave a knife at them from 20' away.
