Democrats Favor Kamala Harris For VP By Wide Margin, Poll Finds

A new poll found that a plurality of Democrats would like to see former Vice President Joe Biden pick Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) as his running mate, while a majority named a woman of color as their preferred VP amid nationwide protests against racism and police brutality.

The poll of 2,240 Democratic primary voters, conducted by Monmouth University between June 1 and June 9, found that 28% said they would like to see Biden pick Harris, who previously challenged Biden in the presidential primary but dropped out before Iowa and endorsed him in March.

Biden’s other primary opponents were also popular, with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) preferred by 13% and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) preferred by 12%, despite recent bad press about Klobuchar’s criminal justice record and reports that she’s fallen out of favor with the Biden campaign.

Southern, outstanding liberal chops and especially on voting rights (extremely important), great speaker, integrity, fight, even has cross-party appeal. I have Republican family who have named her specifically as somebody they'd like to vote for.

He has that unruffled style that plays very well in that setting. It basically wouldn't matter what Harris said. Pence would stick to his script and delivery.

I think it would play out the opposite. Harris would fare so well during the campaign that it would lead to bloated expectations in the debate, ones she could not meet.

No matter what the question, he answers with his preplanned verbiage. He does not answer specific questions. He oozes. I have yet to see a host who can get any other reaction from Pence.

My husband thinks that Pence practices his preplanned verbiage in front of a mirror. No one can shake him. But he is dumb. Some advisor may realize that Pence is so dumb that he needs to memorize a few set paragraphs before any appearance.

They say in the fine print that the poll isn't a representative sample of Democratic voters, so they can't state a range of accuracy.
