(108,955 posts)Thanks to DJT, I did a lot of reading on the topic today and discovered that Texas was just as southern as any southern state, at least with regard to slavery.
When slavery ended in Texas, 30% of the human beings in Texas were slaves. I had no idea.

(3,427 posts)And Im in my fifth decade. I also didnt know about the Tulsa massacre until about 10 years ago. But unlike the president, I did not assume that no one else had heard of those things either. They were simply gaps in my own knowledge.
