9. Corporate Power is Protected
10. Labor Power is Suppressed
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
14. Fraudulent Elections

It seems to be a term nobody wants to touch.

(23,168 posts)that it is difficult to employ it in an academic sense, without the pejorative connotation attaching to it. Much like "communist", nobody wants to use it and risk it being seen solely as pejorative.
Personally, I have no such compunctions, and use the term freely to describe our current regime. I truly hope that history will follow my example.
