Health officials in Florida reported another 3,207 coronavirus cases on Thursday, marking a new daily record as the state continues to see its numbers rise in the ongoing pandemic.
The cases reported Thursday surpassed the 2,783 cases reported two days earlier by health officials in the state, marking a new record for the state, according to USA Today.
The state has reported a total of 85,926 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the outbreak and 3,061 fatalities.
There were 43 reported deaths related to coronavirus reported on Thursday.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has said that the increase in cases is due to expanded testing across the states, as well as spikes among groups of farmworkers and residents and employees of nursing homes, Fox 13 reported.

(18,972 posts)I kept asking, "So what's your point? Are you saying that social distancing doesn't work?" The Con posters would say stuff like, "Too early to tell, let's wait and see what works."
This isn't the first pandemic, we know what works and what doesn't work, so them saying "too early to tell" is like watching the Wizard of Oz for the 50th time and saying we should wait and see how things turn out for Dorothy, there's no telling how this ends.
And that's the thing too, DeSantis and other Con Govs were making this choice with eyes open, they knew it would cause a big outbreak and a lot of deaths, they just thought they could sell it to people because Trump pushed them towards it.
