(12,712 posts)They may not be able to understand the concept, but in light of the high contagion and potential for exponential spread, (which is irrefutable) those are definitely vector fests they are participating in.
If I were a virus and my point was to spread quickly and easily, they would be my vehicles to get me around and that would be just great. Free ride to anywhere.

(90,764 posts)comes into play. Not exactly a profound statement because, well...duh. Of course it does.
The psychology of Trump groupies is a tiresome old tune. Pick almost any authoritarian leader of any group, be it political, religious, or various cults, and you get the idea.
'Course I say that knowing full well I'll keep reading paper after paper and book after book on the formation of groups and the psychology behind it.
It's an interest but sometimes it feels more like a burden. The difference being between something in the abstract and something physical and here in the now.
Trump fills a need or needs they have, as do the other people who support Trump. Even within the larger group of Trump supporters there are subgroups. One being the people who follow him from rally to rally. They all know each other and most likely describe themselves as the most loyal, the most faithful, and set themselves apart from the rest - even as they see the others as family, it is the difference between extended v. immediate family members.
OK. I'm stopping now.
