One new hanging ("suicide"?)-Manhattan. Nooses in Bronx

OMG

I just found out about these!!!

Van Cortland Park a very big that juts up against the City Line.
Two people found several nooses of which a few were hung in well lit places. This was the eve of Juneteenth.
Rarely ever by it now but when I was a kid my did took me there off and on. The police were rather indifferent.

Sometime this week a man was found hanging in Ft Tryon Park. That was my go to park for 27 yrs! Another very big park , second northern most in Manhattan I have lived in two other Burroughs since, and I still (well not past 2 months but maybe soon) visit it a few times a year.

FWIW all those years I never heard Anything about any one hanging themselves there!

but glad Dad is not longer around. He was born in NYC, and lived there much of his life.

My brother and I were also born in NYC.

... such a difficult thing to think.

{hugs} to (former) fellow NYC'rs.

Both my folks are gone.
If my dad hadn't undergone such emotional changes he'd have been incised!
My mom would have been absolutely horrified.
As I am since this started and for horrific police actions for decades!
As I read the news I was like backing into my chair like wanting to hide against a wall.
It's this casual racist depravity that Drumph unleased.

And the guy in Ft. Tryon Park has been ruled a suicide, although the investigation is ongoing.

However, these days anything is possible

The woman who saw them said that ropes for pinatas wouldn't look like that

Maybe it is a suicide ...
...but right now I don't trust them on this!

Young black men hanging themselves all of a sudden does not make any sense. Now, more than ever, these young black men have some hope.

I have hope for all of our citizens of color more than ever, because half the time I see more white people marching than I do people of color. White people are sick and friggin' tired of any kind of racism, and it's about friggin' time.

Racism is as stupid as our orange president, and his band of merry republican assholes.

And finding out how every police department has been infiltrated by white nationalists is so frightening.I do not think these hangings are suicides. No way. No how.

My mom taught me a long time ago to be anti-racist. She woke me, and I've reading and listening to many black people over decades to learn ever more current experiences, and past history.
As a white person it makes me glad to see a lot more white people beginning to "get" what's been going on,
joining in the BLM marches.
Also have heard over past several years studies that say that in general it seems that each new generation of white kids are becoming less racist. That gives me hope.

I sure doubt that those (or most) were "suicides". That is terrifying.
