This is funny, Bolton put himself in legal jeopardy, even though the judge gave his book a pass

from TPM:

Noting that Bolton bailed on the review process after four months, Lamberth said, “Many Americans are unable to renew their passports within four months, but Bolton complains that reviewing hundreds of pages of a National Security Advisor’s tell-all deserves a swifter timetable.”

“While Bolton’s unilateral conduct raises grave national security concerns, the government has not established that an injunction is an appropriate remedy,” Lamberth said.

The judge signaled that Bolton is likely to lose in the underlying lawsuit brought by the government, which is seeking to recoup Bolton’s book earnings because he allegedly violated his NDA.

Lamberth also asserted that, having viewed non-public government declarations describing the classified material in Bolton’s book, he is “persuaded that Defendant Bolton likely jeopardized national security by disclosing classified information in violation of his nondisclosure agreement obligations.”

I am sure he already thought of all of that and knows what he is doing.

...he joined up with Trump, after all, with all of that edjumacation and experience.

Book's already out there, so it would be hilarious to see him get caught up in the idiot's maelstrom of recrimination at Justice. Can't think of many who would deserve to be eaten alive by their own kind more than Bolton.

the wheels of justice grind slowly. If the Trump administatrion pursue this further, Bolton can jam the process and wait it out. Trump and Barr might control the prosecuting side (i.e justice), they dont control the federal judges.

...just amused watching him dig a ditch for himself.

He'll likely be forced to surrender royalties from his book to the govt..

Although the injunction was denied, the part of the case demanding forfeiture of the profits is still alive. Wouldn't it be perfect justice if Bolton had to give up all the money from the sale of the book? I'd even buy it if I knew he wouldn't be making money from it.

...and even if Trump doesn't bite, as I recall, the Obama/Biden administration didn't look kindly on disclosure of nat. security info, so stay tuned.
