...if Barr got wind that the SC is about to rule against them this week and allow the release of Trump's taxes, (one of the plaintiffs, the SDNY, NY DA Cyrus Vance argued the case before the court), then he'd want the documents to fall into friendly hands.

"He suggests he is being fired because the administration wants to delay or interrupt an investigation, and his language suggests that both he and the administration know exactly what that investigation is. There are a number of reasons the SDNY might be examining the finances of the president or his family, but former National Security Advisor John Bolton suggested another reason in his forthcoming book: he apparently claims Trump assured Turkey’s autocratic leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan he would fill the SDNY with his own loyalists, which would enable him to do Erdogan a political favor." https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/june-19-2020

the Ukraine (truncated) transcript, where Trump tells Zelensky to get in touch with Barr. Barr distanced himself assiduously but it was suspicious. There are probably some parts of this story I'm forgetting. Barr went nation-shopping to find something--perhaps dirt on Hunter Biden/Burisma. Those two are very much connected so it wouldn't be surprising if an investigation into Giuliani implicated Barr.

like Brian Benczkowski, also suddenly resigned 3 days ago. Trump appointee, strong conservative advocate for Trump before SCOTUS, like Bencz had planned to leave for some while but not until July.

Seth Abramson and TomJChicago. Tom has extensive material about Donnie's frontotemporal lobe dementia which is worsening. He has extensive documentation of Trump's coordination and balance problems, paranoia, etc.

Both of them have said that Barr attempting to fire the US attorney for the SDNY means that they are investigating Barr and Giuliani. Which is too close for comfort for Donnie.

They're making Nixon look like a Catholic altar boy. House Judiciary Committee needs to subpoena EVERY scrap of paper, and EVERY electronic gizmo in Bill Barr's purview--NOW! Before the "tragic" (Cheney-esque) office fire! Same for the White House while they're at it.

Impeach Barr! Then try again with tRumpski.

There's already been blowback for holding a rally of this sort, but he won't even get to win this news cycle.

Taxes, investigations, questionable firings, foreign dealings to interfere in an election. This is the story of the day.

That the perpetrators are dumb, not the investigation

I like to think we can stop being foiled by Trump and the people who still love him. Surely 2020 is the year that the forces of intelligence, compassion, and honesty defeat Trump and Trumpism decisively. If it can't, then our political system is beyond repair.

will tumble if the Barr card is pulled. That doesn't seem like such a hard thing to do. He's always tip-toeing around outside his realm of constitutional responsibility. Should be quite vulnerable. The scheduled hearings need steroids and energy drinks. The volume in the media needs turning up on them. Protest inertia needs broadening(don't think it will). It's too long to November. Impeachment 0.2 would sure help pass the time constructively.

Democrats simply can't end up relying solely on the election? again?

when Barr put forth Jay Clayton currently head of the Securities and Exchange Commission to fill Berman's vacancy. Learning that Clayton, despite being a Lawyer, has never been a prosecutor.
