Did we see tonight a broken man leave the plane?
Or will he persist with the old Trump bullshit?
Either way, he's gone.

(38,187 posts)I agree with you about his narcissism. He won't leave his fairy tale world. He will tell himself he's huge popular and continue doing what he does.

(7,894 posts)Will they see this as the nose-plant it was, or take the video close-ups and make new campaign ads. If they have been reading their in-house polling at all they know they are in trouble.
Whether the idea that they were seriously trolled on the reserved attendance predictions because their state campaign manager is an over-paid technological fool will resonate within the larger campaign is debatable. There seems to be a presumption in GOP circles that they don't need perfect numbers showing at his rallies they only need to sell the appearance of good attendance to Trump himself.

(11,495 posts)He will blame everyone else for the miserable turn out, he may even fire a few people. He will pout for days and make himself the "victim" of some plot by Democrats to make him look bad, and then he will go back to being his same old disgusting self. Narcissists never change.

Of all of the positive signs, I found this short Biden ad to be the most uplifting:

(16,616 posts)it used to have. The "magic" is gone. Perhaps we will even see resignations from the inner circle (I'm thinking Kellyanne Conway), and firings.
The worse WW2 got for Germany, the more radicalized the Nazis became. Even "defeatism" was punishable by death. Trump isn't Hitler, but he has a similar mindset, and so do his True Believers, and Trump is badly deteriorating (like Hitler) as things get worse and worse. Would they throw in the towel at some point? It's hard to know.

(86,572 posts)she was hawking her clothes line at once upon a time. She' hoping she can change her ID soon, wonder if her fingertips all have bandages on them. Making herself scarce, nobody will take much notice of her absence right away and she'll not be noticed on face recognition cameras... Maybe she'll go hang out with Epstein's mistress.

His base is literally cracking up and starting to fold.
Many of them will get CV and some will die, because
of him.
Now Biden and the Dems will lead us through healing
and recovery.

(33,135 posts)Naw, the Trumpenstein Monster with his allied swamp denizens is going to lash out like never before... We're in for the roughest patch until Nov 3. When he loses the popular vote. (Which, he will. I'm not saying they won't try to somehow reinstall him with some loophole, but, no popular vote win, ever, for the petulant man-child) Then, we're going to really see some ugly fireworks. If he physically makes it that far down the ramp.

(11,804 posts)...that's the attitude that got him elected in the first place. It is absolutely imperative we approach the general as if he's up by 2% point everywhere. November can not be close. We need to get Biden north of 330 in the EC. Trump wins another term, and our Republic as we know it will be changed forever.

Unless he has a massive heart attack or spontaneously combusts*, we will be fighting with him until late January. The silver lining of the moment is that we have seen that the judiciary and military are not on his side when it matters.

He looked like a real loser last night, and lately he's had a string of bad luck. If anything, they are not going to want to associate with someone who is going downhill rapidly.
It will take a while, and not all of them will desert him, but I think a fair amount will eventually abandon their all-consuming passion for everything Trump. He certianly isn't going to win any new converts.
