(32,017 posts)I predicted utter silence today. What can he say? His base dissed him. He is alone and ashamed. I expect him to stay in the bunker and lick his wounds.

(32,017 posts)Because he abhors the feeling of shame, his psychological strategy is to convert shame into anger (an emotion he is comfortable with). Thus, we will see blame-shifting followed by retaliation against whomever he decides to blame.
He has no empathy, so his retaliation is likely to be out of all proportionfar more severe than the allegedly guilty party deserves. It will be ugly.

It will just take some time and possibly some comfort food and/or drugs, but he will emerge from the ashes with a new set of conspiracy theories and unfounded allegations. Meanwhile, I'm sure there will be some epic temper tantrums behind the scenes.

(32,017 posts)When he does feel some emotion, he acts on it, impulsively. Then the emotion goes away, and he goes back to searching for emotional stimulation, so that he can feel something again and react.
Its a textbook case of a Cluster B personality disorder.

(32,017 posts)Thats why he always bounces back in a few days and acts like nothing happened. Today, however, would not be a good day to be in the White House.

Undoubtedly a coping mechanism he learned very young. He will put all his focus and energy on other things to blot out the embarrassment and discomfort of failure. Unfortunately, unlike most people, he doesn't focus on positive things. He uses hatred, blame, and ridicule to build himself up. As for the White House, I'll bet a lot of people are happy it is Sunday and a holiday. Pity the few who have to work today.
