The K-pop effort didn't have an actual impact on attendance because the campaign didn't turn anyone away and, in fact, continued asking people to come.

They might have thought they already had 1,000,000, but they were still asking for MORE. That's the point. "More" didn't give a shit. Only 6200 people came, no matter how many more tickets they were willing to sell.

The kids punked them on getting their hopes up that a lot of people would show, but there were still millions of more tickets to sell, because they never stopped ticket sales.

Just nobody showed up.

I think most of these RSVPs are mostly data hauls.

Trump was stupid to announce that 800,000 were going to physically attend.

Does he not understand campaigns? This happened in 2016...but I didn't pay attention to any of his pre-rally announcements. Parscale used these RSVPs to generate ads, calls ad nauseum. (I'm still paying for trolling a 2017 survey)

All of the people who wanted to go were able to go. But there was no limit on the number of tickets you could sign up for online. The purpose of doing online ticket requests was to harvest email addresses for fundraising, and if a million K-Poppers signed up that didn't prevent anybody from attending because there were no reserved seats (which is why a bunch of morons camped out overnight - as it happened, they didn't have to do that). If a million people had showed up, obviously only the first 19,000 would have been let in.

What the fake ticket requests really did was cause the campaign to brag about what they expected to be huge turnout - the sabotage was not of the rally attendance because only 6200 people wanted to be there in the first place, but of the expectation of a huge turnout. This made the actual turnout look even more pathetic than it would have if Parscale and Trump hadn't bragged about the expected million fans. The moral of the story is, either don't use rally tickets as a way to harvest data, or if you do, don't brag about the numbers and risk ending up with aa shit ton of egg on your face.

at an event I was interested in I would be disinclined to deal with that kind of traffic. Of course that was absurd in the first place, and I wonder if any but the most brain-dead Trumpers ever even believed it - the entire population of Tulsa is about 400,000.

they could count the ones outside, they could judge by the hotel rooms. Kind of hard to be missing 90,000 people and not have a clue.
