That SCOTUS actually believes that the President is not above the law.

Wouldn't this just be the cherry on top of the sundae after this past week?

3. The idea that this is even worthy of deliberation just floors me...

Public servants give up much of their privacy when they are elected and sworn in. It HAS to work that way in a democracy. It just has to. The inability to probe the financials of public servants is the road to corruption.

Follow the Money.

Scary and terrifying

If the SCOTUS rules against Trump and consistent with all the lower court rulings and says that the tax returns must be released, I see a very scary response from Trump and worse than anything we have seen so far and going Fascist overtime. We all need to be ready for what scary shit he will do.

If the SCOTUS rules in his favor and contrary to the lower court rulings and says his taxes don’t have to be released, I see a terrifying response and future ahead from Trump and he will go full Fascist and basically know he is Emperor and can do ANYTHING he wants. Our Constitution and Democracy are done. Have a plan B and realize it’s over and he isn’t leaving. Be prepared for things only seen in Authoritarian Dictatorships and countries like Russia, China, N Korea, Nazi Germany shit.

6. The statute isn't discretionary

If Congress requests tax returns from the IRS Commissioner, the statute doesn't say the Commissioner will turn over the returns if he feels like it or he can refuse if he thinks the request is motivated by politics or anything else. The statute says the Commissioner shall turn over the requested returns. I don't think even the Supreme Court can carve out any wiggle room for Trump or his accountants.

If they vote in favor of trump. Also those arguments in behalf of trump are absolutely inane and void of reason.

Hope he stays within the trend of the last couple cases, and on the side of the constitution (more so than the others in this case).

Treasury shall release tax records upon request by Congress. No room for interpretation there.

this is about oversight and writing legislation regarding how tax law affects presidential candidates.

Also about the emoluments lawsuits pending against DT Enterprises.
