We are having a resurgence in ignorance already here. At least the local mayors of the cities surrounding Phoenix are taking it seriously.

Excerpts:
If President Donald Trump's scheduled trip to Arizona next week is intended to shift attention away from the coronavirus pandemic, he could scarcely choose a harder place to try that.

Arizona is now one of the nation's hot spots for infections, and Yuma, where Trump will inspect the border wall under construction Tuesday, is among the hardest hit locations in the state.

Trump's other stop is a campaign speech to more than 3,000 people, most with the group "Students for Trump," at Dream City Church in north Phoenix. The Phoenix City Council imposed a mask mandate beginning Saturday.

In Yuma, the president will inspect the border wall, perhaps his signature campaign promise four years ago, that is under construction. He will see the 200th mile of wall that has been completed. It is a physical sign of a promise kept, even if it is American taxpayers, not Mexico, footing the bill.

All at taxpayer expense just so he can have a couple of feel-good moments.
