6. don't love it, but ok with it...

my house is across street from lake/summer resort so winters are slow and mostly quiet... summer is crazy and people do love their fireworks! The perk (or downfall)..…. 4th of July fireworks for larger area are over the lake and we watch from front yard and it seems the entire population parks along the road and in my front yard to watch...

7. I'm fine with it as long as....

1) It ends before 11 PM
2) It doesn't last for hours

8. I don't particularly care.

My dog is nuts though, she loves fireworks. They go off and she runs toward them barking and wagging her tail like a crazy person. For some reason, people set off fireworks all the time now. Every night, holiday or not, there are constant explosions in Philly.

It doesn’t bother me, I’m so used to it that I barely notice it going on. I know a lot of other dogs get scared though, I feel bad for them because it’s so unnecessary. I stopped doing the fireworks thing a long time ago, you’re literally burning your money.

9. Not that many in our neighborhood

There are always a few here and there but not that many overall. We hear the official firework display from here but can’t see it because of the trees.

We let off a few in our driveway usually. Not this year though!

10. I don't know if

this is the case around the country, but they started earlier than usual here in Oakland (around the middle of last month). Usually it starts in mid or late June. I can tolerate the fireworks that sound like the professional kind, but I absolutely HATE the extremely loud ones--the ones that sound like bombs and gun shots. I can't stand the jackasses who have used those all day every day for the past month around here, and the police either won't or can't do anything about it. July 4th is officially my least favorite holiday because of the fireworks alone. It wouldn't be so bad if people only used the fireworks on the 4th or the night before, but they always start weeks in advance! It pisses me off. Aside from that, I also feel sorry for any pet owners around here whose pets freak out over the noise.

As long as they are respectful! Shut it down around 11PM and not drunk as hell shooting off the bigger works from their hand. Also tearing off the stick so the fucking thing can go... wherever. Seen them do that stupid shit quite often.

On the other hand, my dog gets terrified. I usually turn up the TV or radio louder to drown out the explosions.

Fireworks don't bother me but one of my dogs hates the noise. Since the state shut down fireworks and gunshots at all hours have become the norm.

18. Here in a very red Texas neighborhood we have lots of fireworks, my ducks hate them.

I have to clean up my yard after due to all the over flights and the booms last well into the morning hours.

It just plain sucks. Seems like they are getting louder and heavier artillery shells every year.

So, I wish it would stop.

20. Complete and utter disrespect for neighbors

It’s illegal here but never enforced. Idiots pop them for long hours for several days. There are always house fires.

If you want to see fireworks, go to the free and professional displays provided that will “wow” you. Neighborhood fireworks cause damage and usually the instigators aren’t caught.

Yes, this is my pet peeve. Your rights end when my rights begin. Burn bans in effect don’t mean anything to the idiots who put all of us at risk.

So of course several of my neighbors do it anyway.

If it stopped by 10:30 or so that would be tolerable. But often it goes on until like 3am.

22. My dad was born on the 4th of July

I've always loved fireworks because the family joke was the nation celebrating my father.

I actually have a great set up right now. There are neighbors in all directions who dependably set off fireworks on July 4th and New Year's Eve. They are not too close to me. All a few hundred yards away. So I can stand in my front yard or sit by my pool and watch them.

I'm always hoping the fireworks will wipe out the feral cats. In a proper world that would be the result. We need more horse racing and zero cats.
