then what was the punchline?

They are the punchline, and should be ashamed of themselves. I couldn't tuck my child in at night while being a ghoul for a paycheck.

But testing is a joke?

(31,514 posts)When you test, you have a case. When you test, you find something is wrong with people. If we didnt do any testing, we would have very few cases.
He is only worried about the numbers and if they make him look bad.

It's a regular routine. And the press goes along with it.

(10,901 posts)All's I've been reading is a couple sentences of his remarks related to testing. How can I tell from that? Eventually I ran across a video that was more than a 5 second soundbite:
https://news.yahoo.com/tulsa-rally-trump-suggests-u-145354962.html
It's clear from this that he is totally serious about what he considers too much testing being a bad thing and all's it does is find more cases
The only humor he attempted was ridiculing testing a 10 year old with the sniffles, and they find he tests positive, and "that's a case, that's a case" as if that's somehow ridiculous and somehow shouldn't be counted as a case.

(64,995 posts)I agree with you in principle, and the "10 year old" bit was really bad, but that could have been a terrible attempt at pandering sarcasm by PINO.
But, like at everything else, he failed.
He's dumb enough to think the pandemic was a source of sarcastic humor.
Obviously, it got things wrong. Again!

(10,901 posts)But what the campaign is hoping people will believe when they are told that his remarks about too much testing was meant to be a joke, is just that -- that he was just joking when he said there was too much testing.
The video demonstrates he was entirely serious in thinking that too much testing is bad because it turned up too many cases. And the 10 year old boy part was just part of him trying to make that point.

(32,681 posts)when *truthfully* RECALLING how he handled things. In trump's stand up comedy routines aka rallies, he frequently shares things that are harmful to himself because he's a narcissistic, amoral sociopath who has no understanding of what's appropriate to say and/or admit to.
We didn't need his confirmation of what obviously happened, but his admission should definitely make its way into a few ads.
