Today, Mitt Romney Lost the Election (for saying half the country are hopeless losers)

Today, Mitt Romney Lost the Election

You can mark my prediction now: A secret recording from a closed-door Mitt Romney fundraiser, released today by David Corn at Mother Jones, has killed Mitt Romney's campaign for president.

On the tape, Romney explains that his electoral strategy involves writing off nearly half the country as unmoveable Obama voters. As Romney explains, 47 percent of Americans "believe that they are victims." He laments: "I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

So what's the upshot? "My job is not to worry about those people," he says. He also notes, describing President Obama's base, "These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax."

This is an utter disaster for Romney.

Romney already has trouble relating to the public and convincing people he cares about them. Now, he's been caught on video saying that nearly half the country consists of hopeless losers.

it's because I truly believe that there is something very dark and mean inside him, that is truly who we think he is. He is a craven and ruthless man who smirks at the wrong times.. just as I'm sure he joked and laughed and pumped his fist in the air when they closed down all those factories and laid off those people around America.

The irony in that statement is amazing.........Romney is part of that 47%, he hasn't paid "income" taxes in years.

It's getting SO bad, so obviously self-destructive to the GOP, that they may need to cut their losses.

I know it's a far-fetched scenario but I think something is seriously wrong with Romney. I don't mean to hijack this thread into another dispute about Asperger's, etc. but something about him says, 'not right' to me.

it would be more destructive to the party to yank him out now...

I agree that Rombot doesn't seem "all there" --but then was Dubya? They are both tools, who do and say what the masterminds program into them at this level of politics. Mitt's receiver seems kind of defective. He's your basic Narcissist. Out of touch with reality. I still can't reconcile his past as a moderate with what he has become.

don't earn enough, are retired or students. Then of course there's the 1% that take pride in not paying taxes.
