(12,858 posts)I remember as a kid going with her as she went to vote
IIRC she was a precinct captain at least once when I was a kid
She was a long-time member of the League of Women Voters. Very active in the local chapter. Edited the local monthly newsletter, this before computers---all cut and paste and then take to printer!

(12,466 posts)To think women were not even seen as people with their own will and who could think for themselves 100 years ago.
But thanks to the women who fought we can vote.
Another reason to vote because that right was hard won against opressive white male patriarchy.

I also wish that PBS would rerun"Shoulder To Shoulder" about the Britsh suffrage movement. Or at least put it on DVDs.
