trump says niece set to publish book had signed a nondisclosure agreement

Nothing says family love like an NDA.

(CNN)President Donald Trump said that his niece, who is set to publish a tell-all book about him and his family, had signed a nondisclosure agreement and is "not allowed to write a book."

Mary Trump, the President's niece and the daughter of his late older brother, Fred Trump Jr., has penned a book described as a "revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him." The book is set to be released on July 28, according to the book's publisher Simon & Schuster.

"She's not allowed to write a book," Trump told Axios in an interview Friday. "You know, when we settled with her and her brother, who I do have a good relationship with — she's got a brother, Fred, who I do have a good relationship with, but when we settled, she has a total ... signed a nondisclosure."

Simon & Schuster declined to comment Sunday evening. CNN had previously reached out to Mary Trump for comment.

Fred Jr only had 2 children but I never heard that his son has CP. I do remember reading that his son has/had significant health issues and Fred Sr. had him covered, for life, with health insurance until trump* canceled it.

So if I'm right, I'm questioning how "close" he might be.

It’s actually down another generation:

Frederick Christ Trump (1905–1999), real estate developer, married Mary MacLeod (1912–2000)
Frederick Christ Trump, Jr. (1938–1981), TWA pilot, married/divorced Linda Clapp
Frederick Christ Trump III (born 1963) married Lisa Beth Lorant
Mary L. Trump (born c. 1992)
a son (born c. 1994)
William Trump (born 1999)

William is the one with CP

I don’t have any experience with and don’t know a lot about NDAs, but virtually everything I have heard about them has involved their use in suppressing information (secrets) that would significantly damage reputation, create risk of and support either civil or criminal liability, or at the very least be extremely embarrassing while serving no apparent societal or ethical benefit that I can see. They seem to infringe not just on an individual’s, but society’s right and ability to foster ethical norms. ..... Perhaps there are situations in which they serve a positive and productive purpose from a civic, civil and ethical standpoint, but I can only think of a few: like protection of trade or technological secrets.

...for instance, an actor friend of mine frequently can't talk about the gig he's working on at the moment until a public announcement date. The same sort of thing applies to all sorts of projects in many fields.

But blanket, in perpetuity NDAs? Those should be null and void, and illegal to try to impose. As should NDAs attempting to silence critics or matters of public safety. They need to be limited and clearly finite in order to work.

beyond in his quest to solidify power. Including hundreds of immediate and extended family members. His own mother and siblings, if I remember correctly.

Well, the years started catching up with the old guy and he started thinking and realized that all of these people he'd dealt with were likely still holding a grudge and the other side was their home court. So he ordered his scribes and alchemists to make him immortal so he wouldn't have to face his comeuppance. (Sound familiar? Sort of how a certain Agent Orange is trying to make himself a perpetually immune dictator like president.)

Anyway, the end was inevitably ugly and not immortal for this particular Emperor. As to facing a horde of really pissed off spirits he'd screwed over in life, that's for religion to sort out.

The rumor is that gunpowder was one of the products of his quest for immortality, along with mercury poisoning.

She says she is ready for a fight now and thinks the book is important enough for a fight.
The more I read about her, the more I like her.
If she gets hits with a lawsuit, I would give to a Gofundme account for her.

Would be shocked if copies haven't been given out to prevent that already. An NDA won't stop it. They haven't seen it yet, so that won"t do it. She's a smart lady knowing he would try this.

The NDA only applies to specific financial details of the inheritance settlement made after Fred Sr.'s death, it doesn't prevent Mary Trump from revealing juicy stuff about her uncle. Get ready to be psychoanalyzed in public by your niece, asshole.
