Whats all this talk about a second wave of U.S. coronavirus cases?
In The Wall Street Journal last week, Vice President Mike Pence wrote in a piece headlined There Isnt a Coronavirus Second Wave that the nation is winning the fight against the virus.
Many public health experts, however, suggest its no time to celebrate. About 120,000 Americans have died from the new virus and daily counts of new cases in the U.S. are the highest theyve been in more than a month, driven by alarming recent increases in the South and West.
But there is at least one point of agreement: Second wave is probably the wrong term to describe whats happening.

(9,998 posts)Whenever someone points out that we're still in the First Fucking Wave, I appreciate it!
The 2nd Wave is the Disaster we're going to experience in the Fall thanks to INCOMPETENT "leadership."

(11,495 posts)Georgia is going higher daily, Arizona and numerous other states are seeing higher numbers of cases, and we don' know for sure if red states are even reporting the actual numbers. They could be much higher. Yet trump and pence are trying to convince people the nation is winning the fight agains the virus!
Now I know trump has a cult following who will buy into this crap, but anyone with half a brain can see trump is lying through his teeth. Even some of trumps followers are seeing the danger of listening to him, the Tulsa joke of a rally shows that. They can lie all they want, it won't change the facts, and it won't stop people from getting the virus, and some will actually die from it. Many will be trump supporters.
