I know, the title of this article evokes an immediate "Duh!" if you're a snarky cynic like me.
But, I'm glad I read it anyway. Because the main takeaway for me was that it's primarily nasal cells that seem most vulnerable to initial infection.
So, now I'm asking myself: what if I start wearing noseplugs when I go out in public?!?
Of course, I'll do it under a mask, so I don't look like a weirdo. And because wearing a mask prevents outgoing transmission. But I've been concerned about my mask not protecting *me* from incoming virus.
I think I've found a viable compromise that I can live with.

I have to admit, it is hotter than hell down here, and now summer humid.
But still....

(115,280 posts)as well as their mouths. I've seen a bunch of people on TV wearing masks with their noses uncovered and I thought it was dumb. I guess it's even dumber than I thought.

(2,174 posts)That breathing through my mouth causes more air to go out the top and fog my glasses and through my nose not anywhere near as bad mostly not at all......
