"Let them enforce it." And promptly had the US Army move them off their land.

I don't agree with most of the efforts to tear down non - Confederate statues. This one I do.

Pulling down statues of ex presidents is not a vote winning tactic.

How many potential democratic Voters will be pissed? Will you?

The Democratic Party, correctly supports the protesters. When they do stupid shit some of it splatters on us. No getting around it.

And I know most Americans, Democratic as well as republicans do not support a group of Anarchist destroying public statues in DC.

Does that mean I support them staying up? No. It doesn’t. But their removal needs to be done legally.

As to the woke thing. Never claimed it. Never worry about it. Just support what i believe in. Don't much like the term.

Have a nice evening. I enjoy your posts. Actually agree more often than not.

I should shut my trap?

Maybe you think this helps the Democratic Party. Then explain why.

Expand the photo of the attempt to pull down the statue. Dudes dressed in black with various helmets. Who brought tow straps with them. Those things are not just laying around to be picked up. These are anarchist who hate us as much as the do republicans. And planned this in advance.

Peaceful protest help us. Destroying property is not peaceful and Americans of both parties find it distasteful.

If you think I am wrong then perhaps explain why. This is a discussion site after all. You might change my mind.

Much more effective than calling me a troll.

Have a nice evening.

It is pretty much a requirement for me to post here to vote for the general election candidate. I wanted to wait and see how Biden campaigns. After 2016 primaries I wasn't happy with the two choices but Hillary Clinton won me over in the debates and she actually had good policies.

The protesters have won me over and they have hurt Trump in the polls.

I don't want this to be used as a talking point in case Biden does lose which I think is very unlikely. I also live in a swing state. After Trump is gone I'll either go back to being an apolitical non-voter (when I was much happier) or wait and see how the young progressives do.

Most Americans just live their lives and things go on.

I have been politically interested since I was 14. Full disclosure, for too many years as a republican which a surprisingly large number on DU were as well.

But now we are at a point where our choices actually affect our lives.

Perfect example: Democrats insisted that the unemployment benefits until July 30 be $15 an hour. $600 a week. The republicans had to go along because even they knew we needed something. Without that we would be in a full blown depression. But they are now absolutely refusing to extend that.

There is no perfect candidate or political party.

I live in Florida. We should be a blue state but too few Democratic voters turn out in local and non-presidential election. You want to make a real difference? Vote and get your friends to vote in 2022

I really think this whole trump thing is the last gasp of Americans who desperately want this to stay a white majority Nation.

Will a Democratic President be perfect? Of course not. But better than the alternative.

And you should not go back to being apathetic. Get involved and you can really make a difference.

I hope you have a nice evening and a good week. Stay safe.

Some on our side need to be a lot more strategic. Pulling stuff down in a street action my give some a charge, but it damages our longer term objectives. It is better to educate a populace and have it WANT to have the statue taken down from public view, like more and more southern cities are doing with confederate statues, hell, even Ole Miss is moving a confederate statue from a well travelled part of campus to the Cemetary where the subject is buried.

Expand the photo and look at the ones doing the pulling. They brought tow straps with them. Dressed in black with various helmets on. Typical Anarchist. And using girls in shorts to screen them.

This was not a spontaneous protest but a planned operation.

Anarchist hate us as much as they do republicans. They actually like trump as president as they use our peaceful protest as cover to do their work.

A few weeks ago trump had peaceful protesters gassed and removed from Lafayette Park. A felony in my mind.

The people trying to pull down this statue were not peaceful protesters.

And are not our allies.
