Anyone else here struggling with the Windows 10 updates?

I installed them over the weekend, and on Sunday, they crashed my computer. So, I uninstalled them, and that made my system unstable.

Then, I re-installed them which may have done the trick, but it's still a little buggy.

Her laptop bricked. We had to drain the battery, then let it charge back up to full, and it came up just fine.
Apparently the problem from last week's patches is with Win10 home and Student edition if you aren't running Office; Win10 Pro didn't seem to have a problem even if Office isn't enabled.
Spouse and I use Win10 Pro; I have Office (due to work), he has Open Office/Google Docs and uses Chrome. Kidlet has an HP laptop with Win10 for Student/Home; she uses Google Docs. She was the only user in the family who had issues.

Try the power up reinitialize, that should help. I think Microsoft has developed a bad habit of using the customer as beta testers for it's Home product patches.

it seems the last "update" took that option away.. and now I can't upload pics to my Picture file.

Very frustrating and disappointing. It's a relatively new HP I bought at Costco on Nov 25, 2019.

Won't go to sleep after the set time and the screen saver only works if set to 4 minutes or less.

Why are there so many updates???

I switched to lubuntu Linux after M$ stopped supporting Windows 7. My computer has never ran better. For the price (free) it's been a great trade off.

When I got the update and had a few quirks, I went to my motherboard and video card site (Gigabyte) and loaded the latest drivers.
Update: For the video card, Gigabyte will send you to an Invidia site for upgrade. I guess all brands of
Geforce video cards will be sent here.

Things have been great since I did that. You might want to update every driver you can, especially after an update.

(and probably wouldn't have been even with familiarity). The reason I ultimately decided to NOT go to Win10 .. was specifically because of the update issue. 10 took the matter entirely out of the hands of the consumer (no choice, no selection, no control) .. and that was just a bridge too far (for this end user).

I hope you have restore points to go back to .. but then, (Win10), Microsoft is just going to keep pushing those buggy updates to your new restore. Sorry.

Bastards. I didn't have the time to deal with their "customer support" people who speak little English. So I bought and installed a new copy. Had her back and running in 20 minutes.

I have been slowly moving from MSFT to Linux on the machines in my office. Four servers migrated and all are more stable and capable. Now to do that to the desktop & laptop machines...
