This was always going to be long odds race, regardless of whom the nominee was.

(13,386 posts)It is my understanding that the majority of the vote of 1.1 million is in mail in ballots about 800,000 and we won't know the results for about a week?? How can you go by just the in person ballots?

(3,148 posts)but practically no votes from Jefferson or Fayette County are in yet, although I agree the odds are against whoever the nominee is defeat McConnell, but if the numbers you are citing are the early returns you would expect McConnell or any republican to be ahead this early. The numbers from Louisville and Lexington may not be in until next week.

I am so SICK of these morons! Those things do not affect their lives one bit. If they would just keep their noses out of everyone else's business, the world would be a much better place.

(954 posts)...no way I'd let an elderly family member of mine (or myself for that matter) go to the polls and stand in those long lines risking contracting COVID.
We'll continue to lose states like KY as long as those with us with the means to change things sit back and let the disenfranchised stay disenfranchised.

(15,909 posts)Not that Id be shocked for there to be more McConnel voters, but early returns are often very uneven and lopsided, especially when theres a big difference between rural and urban reporting speed.
