I'm surprised the Grammy committee didn't think it was "too radical-looking"... regnaD kciN Jun 2020 #2

Monk was a true artist. I know it is Monk playing within the first couple of measures. I am always amazed when an artist can sit with an instrument that has been around for hundreds of years, has been played by millions and millions of people and you can hear their distinct voice so clearly. Monk is one of those artists. I bought one of those album cover frames that I rotate with a new cover every few months. This was the first cover I chose. Plus I was born in 1968, so I have that little connection.

Long live the memory of Thelonious Monk!

...and give the award to an album cover by Andy Williams or the Tijuana Brass or something.
