“Democrats have opened up a 302,000-voter advantage over Republicans in vote-by-mail enrollment, an edge that could pay big dividends in President Trump’s newly adopted must-win state,” Politico reports.

“Five months before Election Day, more than 1.46 million Democrats have signed up to vote by mail compared to 1.16 million Republicans… By comparison, in 2016, Democrats held an advantage of about 8,800 in vote-by-mail enrollment.”

5. The danger is clear and present

This is why Republicans are moving heaven and earth to limit vote by mail and to discredit it.

Friendly advice: Educate yourself about the mechanics of voting by mail if you're not personally familiar with it. So that when you see a post against vote-by-mail, some vague allegation of "cheating" or "fraud," push back. You don't have to be mean (yet), but a quick explanation why cheating or fraud in connection with vote by mail is silly, like counterfeiting pennies.

6. The Republican response will not be to sign up more GOP voters by mail

They instead will work to undermine the mail-in system itself in Florida, in order to point to its flaws and inequities. In other words, if you can't win fair and square, sabotage and claim the Democrats perpetrated fraud. This will likely be the model for the conduct of all state elections wherein Republicans are in charge.

Whatever the most egregious ratfucking you can imagine, think beyond it and that's where Republicans will land.

10. I live in Broward County now.

I have no recollection of requesting a vote-by-mail ballot. I do recall having to register to vote in order to qualify for home-stead exemption (which reduces property taxes). So, I received a ballot for the primary. Happily I voted for Biden and mailed it. Looking forward to the general election. Easy peazy. Voting should be easy peazy!
