Aunt Jemima is a racist character. If they wanted a syrup named after Nancy Green, they could have done that, but they didn't. That wasn't he image they wanted.

"From the people who saw* 12 Years a Slave comes the inspiring story of a woman who was born a slave...but became...a pancake syrup!...And in these thick and sticky times of ours, she became a family member to us all, making her way into our hearts and on our tables...This summer, from Universal Pictures, comes...

...Jemima."

*"Saw" is a relative term. But we're pretty sure it was on in the background of a party they once attended.

Ted: Our first guest speaker comes from the year 400 BC, a time when most of the world looked like the cover of the Led Zeppelin album, Houses of the Holy. Bill: We were there. There were many steps and columns. It was most tranquil.
