(6,477 posts)Those are big crowds, breathing heavily, and a lot of folks cannot or will not mask when running. I tried with masks a few times at the beginning, but it just doesn't work for me. I've taken to running in the street and less-used paths and off-peak times of day. Can't imagine doing a race in these conditions.
Chicago has still not canceled, but I imagine that announcement will come soon on the heels of NYC canceling.

I use something similar for riding my bike.

(6,930 posts)Even for middle pack runners like myself, a helluva a lot of planning is needed. And the elite runners are a whole nother issue.
Damn shame, but probably the right decision.

(182,618 posts)Should have stuck it out on applications. After 2 years youre guaranteed year 3. But then I found out I ran a marathon on a broken leg (stress fracture) so I had months rehabbing it.
