Nadler is red hot in today's hearing about Bill Barr!

He's running it with an iron fist.

First, a few minutes ago he read a statement about observing the House rules requiring members wearing masks. Any member who does not observe those rules will not be recognized. He was directing that to Jordan without naming him, who has refused to wear a mask.

Then he chastised Collins who was trying to smear one of the witnesses, saying that it was not the subject of the hearing but just a personal attack.

This is one of the more interesting hearings I've seen in a while.

He got the only recent primary scare in recent years from an ultra-Orthodox sect in his district for not being pro-Israel enough. No one is interested in primarying him just because he has been around for a while. If AOC wants notches in her gun for knocking off long-term congresspeople, she is better off looking to knock off people who are NOT her political allies. The trouble with drive-by shootings is you sometimes kill people who might be your friends.

AOC is helping pull our country to the left, with republicans kicking and screaming all the way. Just look how much she is loathed by Republicans and ask yourself why that is. Hell, they even had an ultra right wing conservative proponent of abolishing Medicare and social security try to primary her.

If we hadn’t had a huge surge to the left over the last two years Joe wouldn’t be up in the polls by 10-20 points in several swing states.

The leftward surge is real.

He's simply continuing to do the job he has been elected to do and has been doing for decades.

The rest of your post is improper and, in a word, false. Why even introduce that stuff here? This is a thread in support of one of our DEMOCRATIC Committee Chairmen.

But no, he's not "seeing "AOC" in his rear view" or worried that she'll take his Chairmanship. He's Chairman of the JUDICIARY Committee, membership in which has strict qualifications and requirements, as you know. She doesn't have either.

I agree with you that Nadler isn’t in any danger of being from the left. While we’ve all seen the clips of his ineffectiveness when it comes to dealing with disruptive right wingers, he’s still a solid Democrat and deserves our support.

I’m curious, what are the “strict qualifications and requirements” you mentioned here:

He's Chairman of the JUDICIARY Committee, membership in which has strict qualifications and requirements, as you know. She doesn't have either.

I’m not familiar with the “strict qualifications and requirements” you referred to. Ones you said AOC does not possess.

I’m quite sure they do exist, that this is merely a case of my ignorance, and that you wouldn’t make something like that up to land an anti-AOC punch. That’s why I asked what they are.

I excitedly await your answer!

Please, please, answer the question George. What are the “strict requirements and qualifications” that you referred to - strict qualifications and requirements you say AOC lacks.

I’m certain you’ll answer the question this time. You made such a big deal in a past thread about being willing to answer concrete and specific questions that weren’t hypothetical in nature. This should be no problem at all for you.

Is this your way of admitting that when you said AOC doesn't meet the strict qualifications and requirements to serve on the judiciary committee, what you meant was she doesn't meet the loose traditional background that isn't a requirement or qualification at all?

As a little side note, one of my favorite members of the committee is Karen Bass. I'd tell you to look up her background but just to make the point, again, how easy it is to provide information instead of tell someone just to Google it, I'll do that for you:

[Karen Bass] went on to study philosophy at San Diego State University, and graduated from the USC Keck School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. She then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health sciences from California State University, Dominguez Hills.[1][16] She also received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California.
