Citi (C) accounted for nearly 37% of pandemic-related complaints to regulators about credit cards between March 16 and May 20, according to an analysis by Consumer Reports.
That was four times as much as the next-closest bank, the analysis of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau complaints database found.
Borrowers complained about several aspects -- from inflexible late fees and interest charges, to refusals to provide assistance for those with financial hardships.

(19,712 posts)through downsizing. Citibank refused to help at all, but did offer to close the account but still charge us the same interest and increase the monthly payment to "get it paid off sooner".

I think a whole lot of people will be on a world of hurt by the end of Q3 2020.
but, now we're making sure we teach our kids that credit cards are not the way to go, in the long run, it is better to learn to live on what you have.
I fear for people who have lost their jobs, but hey, credit cards are unsecured debt...in the hierarchy of debt, mortgage and primary vehicle should always come first in a tight spot. Having a bad credit rating for a while is totally survivable.

Thank you, Dave Ramsey.

(56,199 posts)they have been and are still charging me 22% interest on that entire amount ever since the 0% rate expired even though I paid it off in April.
I've called twice and chatted online three or four times. They eventually credit away the interest but then the next month they charge it again....
